MorFeus

Inspired by the Greek god of dreams, MorFeus is crafted to provide a sanctuary for children to sleep and find tranquillity. The high headboards create a sense of enclosure and security within the bed, while the use of natural materials radiates warmth and comfort, fostering a nurturing environment. The bed’s unique design features patterns for both privacy and illumination, inspired by the gentle cascade of raindrops on a windowpane.

Growing with the Child:
From infancy to adolescence, MorFeus evolves alongside the child. With pillows providing a cocoon-like environment for infants, the bed extends to 120cm in length without pillows, gradually accommodating the child’s growth. By adjusting the position of the headboards, MorFeus transforms from a crib to a toddler bed, and later into a daybed suitable for teenage years. The bed’s serene green color, reminiscent of the forest, promotes a sense of calm, balance, and harmony, creating a tranquil space for rest and relaxation.

My Process

MorFeus is designed with the practical needs of modern families in mind. It offers ample storage space for loose parts, with pillows that can contain mattress pieces as the child and bed grow together. Storage compartments beneath the bed provide convenient space for excess bed rails when not in use. Easy to assemble and versatile in function, MorFeus adapts effortlessly as the child transitions through different stages of growth, requiring only minimal adjustments over the span of 10-15 years.

Materials:
Crafted from sustainably sourced FSC-certified wood and OEKO-TEX textiles, MorFeus prioritizes environmental sustainability and safety. The design minimizes waste through precision engineering, while the mattress incorporates coconut fibre for durability and natural rubber for elasticity. MorFeus is also packaged as a flatpack, reducing its environmental footprint and offering a sustainable alternative to traditional furniture.

“MorFeus accompanies your child on their journey from infancy to teenage years, providing a safe, nurturing, and adaptable sleeping environment.”
